A 5 year project funded by the Turkish government

The International Centre for Hydrogen Energy Technologies was established and has since been supported entirely by funds provided by the Turkish Government in a Trust Fund managed by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) under the terms of the governing treaty. The fund was envisaged to provide sufficient monies to allow the centre to erect buildings, organise infrastructure and establish the first stage of operations. The first five-year plan calls on UNIDO and ICHET to involve other organisations and to seek new international donors to supplement and support the generous actions of the Turkish Government and allow the centre to continue its activities beyond the 2009 cutoff date.
